Fibaro Roller Shutter without physical switch

Dear All,

 

An idea of having my rollers controlled came up to my mind quite late, so I decided these will be controlled only remotely (there is neither wires, nor switches on the walls, but under wall junction boxes for shutters). Has anyone tried to start it up and successfully controlled without switches? My plan is that they will be controlled by fibaro app, alexa and by some dummy switch relays with programmed scenes.

Should be possible. No need for switch when module is added to system. But you should have at least emergency access to module in case you want to add/remove it from system. Also there must be upd/down wire from motor available for connection (not a case for remote controlled blinds).

"Should be" is not enough. Need someone to confirm this. I want to know before I spend money on useless motors + roller shutters without being able to do a *abuse* with that set up

Look, switches connected to roller shutter module I do have are momentary switches. So if I dont use them, its like I dont have them - no connection/closed circuit with switches. I do control my shutters 90% via app or scenes. Thats why I dont see reason why it shouldnt work.

I can confirm this, have over 10 roller shutter2 modules, not one of them connected to a swtich directly (so only to mains & motor)

 

I control them 2 different ways, one way is from an IPAD running imperihome, mounted in the kitchen.

The other is I use the light switch in the room, single press activates the lights, single press again shuts them off and double press (scene activation) opens or closes the blinds (depends on their current state)

All working perfect., If you'd like more info, just ask...

Well.. that solution is a bit dodgy if you want to control lamellas angle also. Unfortunately, I am poor example here. Association works fine for close/open position the blinders but... you cannot associate second multi-variable parameter to set angle of lamellas.
