Zigbee and its functionality

petro_cz

Question

I wonder why the devices that went to add in the beta don't work now, the ones added still work, but the same new ones don't add, the adding process ends with a message, device added, but it doesn't actually add anywhere, it doesn't create a box! These are lights and sockets from Lidl! Can someone explain to me why this is not working ? I don't understand this Fibaro policy.
 Thank you

I don't think Fibaro fell asleep. For some reason they pick up this Zigbee hot potato probably hoping that will not be so much difficult as it proof to be. Zigbee iz not so strict with rules as z-wave and manufacturers often use this freedom to implement their own sh..t. I think that zigbee will forever stay in beta. It is just a never ending story.

Just a simple question to zigbee lovers. Did you ever try to include non Philips HUE device to HUE bridge and what was the result? ;-) I mean, there are some bulbs and smart plugs that work nicely with HUE bridge, but they can be counted on one hand digits.

I guess my HA with HC2 and HUE bridge works fine because I never buy cheap devices. I admit that from Aliexpress I buy only few things for testing and until now they where never good enough to be included to my HA. (I guess I'm not that lucky) ;-)

I have feeling that most of users first buy cheap sh..t and then expect it to work. If it is not working then it is Fibaro or other manufacturer fault and throw bunch of stones on them. Well, we live in civilization that is based on profits, so you can't blame corporations to invent their own protocols in hope they do it properly and get advantage over the others. It is our society philosophy that is based on wrong values and we all play part in that. If you accept that philosophy and you are aware of the civilization values we live in, then you can still get the best of it, but will definitely drain you wallet. If you have a snake in your wallet then I'm sorry for you and I will probably just ignore your complaints or will make fun of you here on forum :-D
