master hc3 with slaves hc3l

I have a project with 1 hc3 acting as master and 2 hc3l acting as slaves gateways.

I had a problem recently with 1 of slaves and tries to replace it. All trials result in fail which led me at the end to get a new slave and do the whole work again.

 

Is there any clear step by step guide for the replacing procedure that include all required pre-requists and how to replace a damaged slave hc3L???

Generally replacing slave is not an easy plug&play solution - contacting support is necessary to finish the process for now.

We are considering some improvements in this matter, when those will be implemented then we will update the docs.

Can support help me move from a HCL to HCL3 without having to start all over again? Then I would like to add HCL3 as a slave to my new HC3

HC3L cannot be used as a slave device (at least it was like this half a year ago)

Unfortunately it is not possible for now, migration from old ZW300 chip to ZW700 is really hard to be made.

For now you need to start from scratch, I am not sure if this can be automated in the future.

There isn't a HUGE amount to move, so that's not the end of the world. I have kept our tiny annexe separate for various reasons, and wish to keep it 'standalone if needed'.

 

But am rather hoping that the manually moved HCL3 *can* be a slave unit to my HC3, though?

The HC3 offers to add a slave, but, says the HCL is too low software version if I try and do it manually. Hoping the HCL3 will be OK??

Just to confirm I appear to have successfully added a HCL3 to my HC3 this morning. Both have the exact same firmware version.
