Remotec Z-Wave ZXT-120 IR Extender for Air Conditioners

Question

Posted

There have been repeated requests for HC2 support for this device, bugzilla posts and even a sample sent to Fibaro (thanks Johnny C in NZ).

Yes, you can use other IR devices (eg iTach) to learn and transmit IR codes, but the Remotec is pre-programmed with many popular A/C units and is battery powered. Simply installed with no wiring! Have been using these with Vera to great success for a year or so now.

+1 if you want HC2 support now!

    Hello!

Wondering if it is possible to create a virtual device and control zxt120?

Yes you can. Using vera with HCL.

That is what I have done. Used vera as a secondary z-wave controller

Hi, same question I've been asking for month!

The issue is that even if 3.907 is near to control it, it will only works with AC IR code existing in remotec database while I have here many AC brand which are not part of this list.

So, in order to provide a full use of it, we should know how to recall pre-learned IR code. there's 22 registers which are simply recalled by setting Parameter "34" to "1-22" (related to the corresponding register).

We should simply know how to do it in lua.

EX: Fibaro:sendParameter("2d",5) which would recall the IR code number 5 on 2 bytes.

This way, we can control everything with Virtual devices. This code must exist no??
