Anyone out there that can tell how to obtain a status/value for a HC2 device using HTTP get ?

You can not get it via a simple "get".

You can do

Please login or register to see this link.

that will return the JSON encoded status for the device, like

And then you just extract "value" from the "properties" nested parameter.

So, if you have another computer available, it would be extremely easy to script a solution that would return just the value parameter from a plain get. I use this technique to pull data from fibaro into cacti.

Many many thanks JanJoh, this definitely puts me on track. Many references to json in this forum but first time I grasp its use and power. I tested the command you provided and indeed it retuned a message similar to yours. Is there a special application to open json replies or should I just use notepad? To get values extracted and display in iRule should be possible to configure for me now. Again many thanks, very useful!

Cheers,

Hans

will it change box or not for multimedia 4.X?

I really hope we hear something about 4.X release SOON. I'm so unhappy with my HC2 right now so I find myself constantly browsing for alternative controllers. Seems current system simply doesn't work reliably with Wireless devices unless it says Fibaro on the box. I've so far had severe and random issues with Remotec wireless remote, Z-Wave.me wall controllers, Z-wave.me key fob and Aeotec key fob. So far the good looks of a Fibaro have made me stay but really this is becoming ridiculous. New Z-wave framework is my number one wish for 4.X.

Am I the only one with these many issues? I've gone from Device ID 67 to 130 trying to include 4 Z-wave.me wall controllers.

Just hope it's here before long.

I suggest you better check if your device is supported or not before buying it.

Not all z wave devices are supported by HC2.

    My top 12 wish list:

    1) view of routing tables in admin screen and mesh connections

    2) view of z-wave queue in admin screen + detailed logging

    3) simple pad interface for room control (new one is flashy but impractical)

    4) setmetatable et all so we can have global functions and variables in lua

    5) list view and other controls in virtual device

    6) net library in scenes

    7) simple timer/scheduler so I can retire mine and users don't have scene bloat:-D

    8) HC2 backup ideally to network location

    9) more control over main loop

    10) larger global variables

    11) configurable SMTP server

    12) HTTPS support in net library

    and another dozen lower priority

Well they are closing bugzilla reports - saying supported in 4.002 !

Please login or register to see this link.

One could argue about closing bug report before version released! - but still hopefully means not to far away.

Resolved = Fixed, but not yet available in any release

Closed = Verified in a release and can be closed.
