Sometimes i don't understand people.

The Fibaro group is working hard and they can't please everbody at the same time.

People are so impatient....take a look at the forum....

When will this device be supported, when will that device be supported, when will we get the next update....etc.

Just be patiënt and everything will be all right.

I actually think it's strange that we're this patient. Fibaro are selling products with marketing that deliberately fails to to inform buyers that most features are not yet available. And there's no public release plan to let us know when our products will behave as promised. I personally don't think there's a worse way to treat early movers in a growing market with powerful competition waiting to enter. If they don't fix the basics soon, I think most people will swallow their investment in Fibaro products and move on to Google or Apple or some other company that will get this right.

I still think Fibaro could pull this off, but they'll have to focus less on foil-ware and more on making their products safe and stable.

Apple might take over Fibaro. Maybe that's why they are busy.

@Lode,

Would you expect a partially finished product if you were buying a new car or computer? Of course not. Did Fibaro offer the HC2 at a reduced price because it was work in progress? Nope.

I switched from Homeseer to HC2 and whilst the interface is super slick in comparison, nobody can deny that Homeseer has far far more functions, that operate flawlessly and at a fraction of the cost. In 3 years with Homeseer I never had a single failure, but thought the interface lacked and my other half would find Fibaro easier and more welcoming to use. From an interface point of view I was right, and this is inspirational and Homeseer need to work on this in a big way.....

However.........

I agree with others here that believe Fibaro need to very seriously and quickly up the ante if they want to seriously compete with what is, and will be, available in this very competitive and growing market. I'm afraid "patience" has nothing to do with it, it's about expecting delivery of something you've paid a not insignificant sum for. Can you seriously consider buying any Apple product to be told "ah that's not ready yet and we're not going to tell you when it will be"? Come on!! I think Fibaro has had enough investment in their premium product(s) to be in a position to offer a FINISHED product with only minor updates or a completely new OS ala Apple, WHICH IS POLISHED AND READY FOR RELEASE. If they can't then the product has simply been released to the market too early and before it was ready to be released.

I for one would, and will, very seriously look at moving to Apple if they release a product as I use mine to operate all my systems (lights, pool pump, water pump, irrigation and monitor doors etc) at my house in Spain whilst living in the UK, so when it goes wrong, as it has and does, it is an enormous and problematic issue for me as I'm not there to unplug, reboot, reconfigure etc.

To summarise, and this is a quote that Fibaro need to seriously consider, the late and very great Steve Jobs had a well known and often quoted saying for all his products.........."IT JUST WORKS"

I'll sit back now and wait for the Fibaro mafia to shoot me down in flames but that's my opinion.

@Robmac,

I appreciate what you refer to, but your post doesn't relate in any way to the quote from mine.

Look at the first line of the first article......."Apple admits". Those articles relate to problems with a product which was rectified, they don't relate to a product that was released too early.

I used Apple as an example as the post related to the rumoured release of an Apple system, but you could argue that a car should never be recalled, but they often are.

My point is, this product is not just finished with minor updates or unforeseen issues that are then fixed as in your post, this is a product that Fibaro knows isn't ready but point blank refuse to say when it will be.....huge difference.

Agree - and fibaro what,s your answer. Also did the homeseer fibaro route. But if Apple comes whith a system i Will switch imediatly. To many weird behavior with indeeld unfinished software.

Oh I agree they are definitely no angels, that's an absolute fact. I'm certainly not a pro Apple campaigner and personally think the iPone is in need of a major update.

I know A.Socha works long hours but I can't help but find paying hundreds and hundreds of pounds for a system that is clearly just not quite there yet more than a little frustrating.

I could copy and paste a hundred posts from here identifying problems and issues with Fibaro, many of which are still unsolved, so I don't think you need to do any more.

Enjoy a response though as I think these issues need to be debated from both sides.

It is not About vision, innovation or hard work/ pasion fibaro does have it all.

Yes it would be nice to hear from Fibaro but they keep very quiet when they know they can't defend the position.

I don't think they are currently talking to me after I suggested that they paid no attention to bug reports

or

when I suggested it would be good to use the "security" feature of z-wave to get some idea what was going wrong on a Fibaro z-wave network

or

when I pointed out that they have a serious threading issue in their code

or

that battery life is better on some other controllers and there may still be an issue with HC2

Agree Robmac but it's such a shame as the people using it are only telling them what they need to know, otherwise no point whatsoever releasing Alpha or Beta versions.

Agree with the mesh interrogation. Not used it but I understand they have this on Vera and is very useful. Would certainly help me as I have 3 buildings with modules in each and occasionally suffer drop outs but don't know where from.

As a business owner I have to make decisions on when to invest in additional resources, and this may be the point that Fibaro are at now, which will allow for more testing to be done internally before release and provide a system that people will use with confidence and help them build a dedicated following like that which Apple has.

Going back to the earlier post, I fear that if Apple do release a product, it will kick Fibaro squarely in the nuts as they are yet to build such a dedicated support base that Apple already has no matter what they release.

Agree Dino, innovative interface means jack if the bits behind it don't work flawlessly.

Palomaray, I couldn't agree more with what you wrote a few posts back.

Does anyone here know enough about consumer law to tell if what we're dealing with here is a clear case of

?

I think if we all went together to demand our money back, then maybe we'd get Fibaro to start dealing seriously with this issue.

@palomaray

I can't completely disagree about what you're saying but what exactly are you complaining about ?

I'm looking forward to the "Smart film" of Aeon Labs, they're advertising about it for more then a year now, look at their websit......"Coming soon".....

As far as i've been reading Zipato has a lot of issues.....

My iphone has become crazy since last update....

My brand new Samsung Smart TV's motherboard has already been replaced.

Just a couple of examples that it's not only Fibaro who's struggling with their products/updates.

It's technology and it will always have some issues and limits.

We don't live in a perfect world !
