Update 3.901 ALPHA for HC2

HC2 3.901 Alpha

Alpha version is designed for user testing.

Installation shall be performed only after reading and fully accepting following terms.

CHANGELOG

- introduction to the plugins (Denon Amplifier, LG Bluray, ONKYO Amplifier, Philips Bluray, Pioneer Amplifier, Samsung TV, Sonos, Sony Bluray, Sony TV)

- new improved Z-Wave engine

- cooperation with Z-Wave locks

- extended functionality of sensors (tamper support)

- extended support of Fibaro Smoke Sensor

- extended support of Fibaro Motion Sensor

- possibility of hiding devices

- possibility of disabling devices

- multithreading

- many backend improvements

IMPORTANT

In order to update to 3.901 alpha Home Center 2 must be first updated to version 3.591 beta.

It is recommended to make a backup before updating to alpha version.

Downgrading back to stable requires full recovery and restoring backup.

UPDATE PROCESS

1. To update to alpha make sure that you are locally logged as admin on your HC2.

2. Type the following address in your web browser:

http:///services/startAlphaUpgrade.php?key=

and press Enter.

3. Update screen with progress bar should appear.

Please be patient whilst update to alpha version as it takes more time than usually because of conversion process.

PERSONAL KEY

In order to get personal key necessary for update please provide us serial number and MAC address of your HC2 at [email protected]. Please also attach statement that you have accepted terms of disclaimer.

Don't like clouds. I hate leaving data on external servers. You never know how this data is protected or used. There are already to many cloud services out there. I have plenty of storage in my network to store a few icons localy.

Believe me, when fibaro starts with a cloud, they will store everything in the cloud.

surely the solution is to allow backups to be stored at another location, outside of the fibaro box. Cloud however is not to my liking, for the reasons outlined by mvrekum.

Alternatively, I'd be happy for Fibaro to sell bigger usb storage. with the recovery version baselined to say 4.0 (when it is released). Assuming its < £20.

I liked to test the new version, but too much things need to be adapted on my side and I don't have time right now to do this.

So -> Recovery mode, and I get :

Some recovery files missing or corrupted.

How can I solve this ?

One way to fix this is if Fibaro fixes are Dropbox plug-in, so when a reinstall is made on HC2 u login to HC2 and gos to plugin and login to Dropbox plugin and thels HC2 al my own icons is on Dropbox so u haw a virtual disk mounted on HC2 so backups al plugin settings to ur Dropbox account, this is 1 way to fix it, it's up to Fibaro to implement it or if HC2 plugin api has the abilities so a plugin dev can make the plugin

Bad luck... call support could be a failed USB. If you have no copy it is a unit return.

Lauri, It's more hardware problem with pendrives, we must add some tool who gonna check recovery to saw problems before you will need use recovery mode with option fix recovery pendrive if possible
