Ok guys,

let's say, that we are establishing in fact the shortlist of criteria. Than it woul'd be very helpfull if you woul'd define your own criteria like the display by @jakub.jezek or external sensor and other things.

Unfortunately i can hardly participate, because i don't have warwater heating at home and i have too little knowledge about the current valves on market and their properties.

I hope to learn something from thouse criteria in order to make considderd choise, when i start realizing central water heating in home this autum.

Ofcourse i do the searching myself, but i thought reading this discussion, that it maybe helpful for many users.

Thnx 4 your reactions.

so it is only matter of time to learn them, number on display does not means for humans anything, it is just number, color can do exact the same informational thing (and it did that for years on mechanical thermostates)

That external sensor is only bit bigger than CR2032, and it is optional. Fibaro will announce all the features anyway, very officially, this week so just be patient (and pre-order already some^^)

@Bodyart, my definition of temperature sensor. Anything, that accurate meassure temperature and it's not placed near or on source of heating (atleast 1,5 - 2 m from radiator, floor heating, ...). Fibaro motion sensor (FGMS-001) is very goord example. But In package of Fibaro radiator thermostat should be nice and very small temperature sensor, so i would like to use it. But i did not have it in my hands yet, so for now i will stick with motion sensor ;) now. Hopefully there will be beta testing where i can participate.

@tinman, those icons are familiar to me :D. Also i see it will be very simmilar to Danfoss in terms of command classes.

Hi all!

Has anyone already some experience with Fibaro thermostate?

Posted

I've ordered one. I'll let you know when it arrives... I guess some people may have it, because Fibaro usually beta-tests devices with "a live audience" ;-)

@petergebruers, not in this case I'm afraid. Guys from Fibaro really rushed with this one to get it to market before season start.

Start of heating season sell most heating devices. Since middle of August I did few sollutions for our salesman, for connecting fancoils, that will be installed in the October. And since then I hate developers (ones that build buildings).

But I believe this device will work as expected.

Now if only the Nest plugin still worked and could be integrated into this....

The termostat is already available in open sale. Today I have received first one. It looks, that the basic functionality is working fine, but the configuration options on 4.140 software are rather poor. Some features has been added in new beta version, but there is not stable software available yet.

Fortunately, I only bought one for the test :)

I just found out that my web shop has stocked the Thermostat and the Sensor, but in separate boxes. Unfortunately I bought the set (one box) and that means an ETA of end of November... Doh!

@jakub.jezek:-)

I meant to write "end of November" but I wrote "end of December". I've edited my post.

Maybe I should have said: "I bought the set (one box) and that means it will be available *soon*"

LOL

I hope you get your Thermostat faster then the promised Fibaro Door Bell which was announced in 2015.

Still, you probably receive it in December and gods know when "set boxes" will be made.

If you mean intercom by that, then Q1 or Q2 of 2018 could be fullfilled, because i seen it on Fibaro conference (for partners only) actually working and alive. But please, don't ask me questions about it, because i may not have answer or simply cannot answer them, yet. But intercom is for another topic :D.

Indeed ... I meant the Intercom.

So my Hippie ball (Fibaro heat controller) arrived (one for testing). But i thought Fibaro told at partner conference, that there will be more mAh. There is only 1400 mAh. And i must say, i'm still amazed by size of temperature sensor.

So some PRO from 1st impression (hippie ball + temperature sensor):

  • Box had everything
  • Modern inovation (i still thinking, there should be invisible display there)
  • Really small temperature sensor usable for both Z-Wave and Homekit heat controller.
  • FLIR
  • Appearence in mobile app

So some Cons from 1st impression:

  • I do not like the sound when i rotate it manually. Sorry, but i do not like that. i like Danfoss Eco (LC-14) more.
  • And i'm not impressed by mounting it to Danfoss RA-N adapters. Danfoss Living connect Z took 30 seconds to install. This took me 3 minutes.
  • Sound of that engine. I do not know if it is me or simply is that horrible compared to Danfoss.

Now, i need to wait till it's charged.

Sorry for calling it hippie ball, but it is ball with collored LED in the front.
