@A.SochaAndrzej, I have another question: "will be maintained" it's mean what Fibaro will be fixing bugs or fixing only critical bugs?

Because those happen to be two different things. IMHO

@A.Socha

Posted this in this topic.

Satel, we are rewriting it, we want to add option to use him with Fibaro Alarm better, that same with satel devices, In US not many people know brand Satel.

With respect to HC3 integrations, I see on the marketing material the DSC logo.  Is this just a copy 'n' paste of the old HC2 list, or have Fibaro & DSC actually got together and updated the Plug-In so it will work with modern DSC alarms (e.g. the Power Series Neo

Hi!

You suddenly ended the informative discussions!

Is there release date information?

When can the first documentation be viewed?

The fibaro website advertises the HC3, but has no documents ready.

Maybe fibaro can say a word.

I'm as excited as a bow.

Greetings!

This may also be of interest, interview to USA company by Fibaro man at CES

The HC3 is a lot smaller than the HC2 (see top left)

And this one shows the specs, back and connections in the latter part of the video from 1 min 3 secs or so. (Specs in English but video in French)

I as I know VD now can be a seal device o you can connect to any conditioners via WiFi / tcp / rf433 / ble and do all what you want

and your VD will be as real device for control your air conditioner

some notice here : if your device request some crypt function like sign r check sign on all in/out packets that’s can ne showstopper here cuz 50/50  this function can be unimplemented by FIBARO

for example any OpenSSL function for set sign still closed for user

The point about plugins is that they are integrated with the system.  Virtual devices are just a kludge.

There is a certain other forum where you can download a "virtual sensor" and "virtual switch" plugins.  These no longer work, of course, but when they did I could code my Daikin air conditioner's TCP/IP interface so that the thermostat appeared as a thermostat and the heat and cool functions appeared as switches.  These then integrated with the HC2 heating and cooling panels.  The coding was altogether simple.

VD's are not simple and have no real application in the system, and the coding is inefficient and quite hard.  I am not going to whip out my iPhone, open an app, wait patiently for it to load and connect, navigate 4 screens and press a "Cool" button.  Yes I can do more limited automation by creating a scene that monitors the thermostat and then presses the button, but why force me into this when there is a panel already sitting there, completely useless???

Another example?  Look at the complexity of scenes like Sankotronic's amazing Main Scene - it is replicating functionality that should be right there out of the box.  You need a degree in LUA coding just to figure out the code.

This is what needs to be fixed before you can take Home Automation seriously. Everything should be a plugin, and connect out of the box. That was the original promise of HC2 which was betrayed by some stupid decisions.

copied from the link above:

Cameras

Adding Cameras

Supported cameras: Your camera must use MJPEG video compression format! H.264, H.265, RTSP, and other streaming formats are not supported!

----

No H.264/5 support for cameras? I did not see any mention of zigbee or 433 either. Hope this is a basic/draft manual.

Can someone from Fibaro explain this?

In the press release is mentioned.

Home Center 3 smart home gateway contains management center running FIBARO devices in combination with hardware based on Z-Wave protocol or even a 100 of Nice devices. If this is not enough, it is ZigBee-ready as well, so users can integrate with hardware using this protocol as a standard. Powerful components and chips are designed to introduce software updates enabling new features.

So I think it's not certified yet.

Thanks @Flash

I’m wondering if Fibaro has a roadmap on when the updates with new features become available. I have ordered the HC3 because of the new support of protocols. If they wait months(knowing Fibaro) before they enable these new features I find it little misleading advertisement?

Sounds like the tv’s of years ago that are “HD-ready”.

But only time will tell?

This is what I feared (not really supprised). It just the same c**p as hc2, with new UI and slapping on some popular radios (of course spice up the spec.).
