Question

Posted

I've a number of roller shutter 2's operating Venetian blinds and they are working perfectly, and have for many years.

Today I have moved one of them from my HC2 to my HC3. Set the mode to Venetian, ran calibration. I can open and close the blind but have no control over the slat position. That is in the Yubii app and the HC3 GUI, the slider is there so I know the blind mode is correct, but it does nothing. The relays in the roller shutter do nothing, not even a click.

Just in case the issue is the GUI I've writen a block scene to move the slat position, still nothing. I have another 10 blinds to move over and this is not a great start.

Maybe it would help to exclude and then include the modules. Migration from HC2 to HC3 is seldom flawless …

Hi @awlieser,

Since @k2aab wrote that he moved only ONE of the roller shutters 2 from HC2 to HC3 then he didn't do migration, but exclusion from HC2 and then inclusion to HC3. Right?

Proper way to go is to ask @k2aab what z-wave engine version he selected on the HC3, because newer engine is still in beta and many things are missing. Maybe clarification from @m.roszak or other users that have this combination RS2 and HC3 and z-wave engine v?? can answer the question :-)

It wouldn't hurt if @k2aab also mentioned on which firmware version is HC3?

Slats should works if those are enabled in parameters, RS2 has full support in both engines.

    Hi @Sankotronic @m.roszak @awlieser

Yes I have removed the module from my HC2, excluded from the network and then added to my HC3, ran calibration (which says it's worked, and the blind does open and close fully and the percentage of openness is reflective of the actual position).

    I'm running V5.180.17 on the HC3, and z-wave version 4.33.

    Roller shutter:

    Version - 25.25

    z-wave type - 3

    z-wave SDK version - 3.52

Slat slider just doesn't do anything.

I also have no switches attracted to the module either.

My next test is to add back to my HC2.

Go to parameters settings and change parameter 3 to "Blind position reports sent to the main controller using Fibar Command Class":

@m.roszak Thanks for this and sorry for the late response, I had a power cut and my HC2 failed to boot, fixed with a new CR2032 thankfully, but does make we want to migrate as soon as possible to my HC3.

Please see the attatched screen shots. On my HC3 I'm not seeing parameter 3 to be able to change it? is there another way to get to this?

I have also checked back on my HC2 where is do see parameter available to edit for an identical blind controller.

    Thank you

Strange, anyway - disable the parameters template, you will be able to define this manually.

Odd thing happened, although I had calibrated the blind several times and it was saying calibrated, the blind had changed to Not Calibrated.... I re ran callibration and I can now operate the slats. Really odd, still not seeing parameter 3, but I'm going to try and move some more blinds over from the HC2 and see what happens.

Thank you all for your advice
