Some general comments that I found helpful

Frank you may want to add that sometimes it takes a while after entering recovery for HC IP to connect, Ive had 5 to 10 minutes untill it would reconnect it just said somthing like device unavailable with a white browser screen even though all three leds are back up .

Other than that you've completed the missing "what to do in a recovery "chapter which the printers must have mistakenly left out of the Fibaro manual  ;D Along with a few other sections.....

One other thing in recovery  if you do push the "yes"to resetting z wave and then have regrets, you can redo recovery again and you are back to where you started

Well now it's my turn to try and recover my system.

I tried to create a vd main loop that presses the save button on a plugin every 20 seconds to get the right state of my Harmony remote..

After saving the vd the system went straight to 503 and couldn't get around. So now I am on my second try to recover my system.

How long does it take to get the notification that there is an update available?

    Thanks @petergebruers,

The system went back to 4.031, now just waiting. I have about 43 unconfigured devices now that the HC2 is trying to configure.

I think when that's done I get the update notification, well I hope any way ;)

I quit smoking 8 months ago and this is the first time I long for a cigarette :(

    *EDIT* updating to 4.133 now

*EDIT2* Updated to 4.133, now going to try to restore a backup

Okay, I am back :) last backup was one week old so I didn't loose to much. Only thing is all icons are gone bit that needed a cleanup any way :)

    Glad it worked out @jimicr

Sometimes the update doesn't appear on the homepage but is shown on one of the config tabs

    Problem was I wasn't patient enough ;)

Now going thru the icon process, most fun one will be @Sankotronic's weather VD...

But now to celebrate a nice drink!

    Hi @jimicr,

I just read that you had to recover your system and that was successful one. Sorry that you had to do that, but glad that it was success! Now I wish I have published my new system because it would be much easier and faster to restore icons for VD's with new version of Icon Preview VD. Maybe then for next restore :D

BTW, some of you did restore and all went ok. Now I'm thinking maybe I should do that for my Angelina. Is that OK? Will then I get rid of some garbage but still get system back as it is now, just clean of garbage? Is it worth it?

At the moment Angelina is running for 15 days and free memory is down to 28% but only due to cached memory grow to 22% while buffered memory is steady on 6% and used memory is for now 42 - 45%. In this 15 days I didn't get one complaint from my wife so I suppose it is working good.

    Cheers

Hi @Sankotronic I am nearly back where I was earlier. If you are adding devices or making VD's and you add an icon to that it's easy going.

But if you have to "pretty up" your whole system again it's a lot of work. So I hope I never need to do this again unplanned. Looking forward to your icon solution,

I am extremely happy with your Icon preview this saved me a lot of time.

To be honest, I don't think the system is snappier or faster. I haven't monitored ram or cpu usage yet but will post here after the system has been up and running for a few days :)

    Hi @jimicr,

I have made System status VD so I can check it even when I'm far away from home. For now only cached memory is growing and today after 15 days is on 24%. In my opinion this should not be problem since cached memory can be released if necessary and is used just to speed up the system. Buffered memory is steady on 6% and used memory on 44-46%.

So in your opinion I will not gain anything if I do system recovery? I will wait for next stable release with hope that Fibaro team will manage to clean some of the bugs at least.

I didn't have any serious issues with my system so the only advantage I had is that all the old icons are finally deleted (you know the ones you once added but can't delete) :)
