New Fibaro Motion/Multi Sensor - when will it be available?

What annoys me about fibaro is exactly this. Trying to build suspense about future product launches but not properly backing up and supporting current products.

The sensible thing to do is to take two steps back and provide proper documentation and support on the existing products before diving head first into every new kind of product one can think of.

Focus the whole team for 4-6 or even 8 weeks on making proper documentation available and accurate on existing products. Cover your bases before expanding the product line.

Fibaro aims to be the Apple of home automation. The biggest and most important difference between the early years of Apple and Fibaro is that Fibaro doesn't take care of the customers invested in their system. I hope that this will change soon.

Fibaro builds a fine ship but forget to build in ballast, Fibaro is like the Vasa ship, but the ballast is Documentations

I have asked this question so many times!

If you look the presentations, then they are showing multi sensor outside the house. So I GUESS that it will be at least IP44. But I am not sure...

OK so just got official response... Indoor use only... So why the garden lights and camera illustration on fibaro home page? You have indoor gardens?

Great cooperation with other devices

The FIBARO Motion Sensor works perfectly in any situation and provides you with endless possibilities when integrated with other devices. In the evening it will tell the system to turn the garden lights on immediately after the motion outside your house is detected. Consequently a camera will be able to transmit clear image to your mobile phone. You can relax, FIBARO System will guard your home.

Just got an email from Robbshop (dutch):

De Fibaro Zwave Bewegingsmelder is onderweg naar ons en we verwachten binnen 1 tot 2 weken te kunnen leveren.

The motionsensor will be available for delivery within 1 or 2 weeks.

That's a bit strange. From their new multi-sensor page on fibaro.com:

After installing FIBARO Motion Sensors on both sides of the entrance to your home, you will always know how many people entered or left your house

Now when that is true, one sensor has to be mounted outside!

This is very disappointing. If we cannot place it outside we cannot use it for security purposes. I still think till version 2 being weather proof comes along we will all have to use ugly fiber sheets to protect it from weather.

Think i may cancel my order of 2 sensors which i placed last night based on the fact i wanted them for floodlight control in the garden...

My nr1 question, like many other devices (like the multisensors from homeseer) they have lux meters built in. This is great but if they only send this out every hour or so its pointless to act upon this.

Can this sensor be set so that it will send a "lights on" association based on the lux it reads when the motion is detected. (so no calls towards Fibaro server) since calls to the server will only give more overhead.

We shall wait and see, but if it does .. then its a really good sensor since if its really sunny i dont need lights in certain hallways, but if its really dark i do. These things can change quicker then if it only sends lux once an hour.

Wonder if it will be based on value greater than ? Then update hc2 same as smoke sensor temp...
