Model number is clear on amazon uk. If it is not the version then send it back for full refund.

You do not have to make anything up. The EU is one market they can not sell this product in only one part.

Fair point. I tried to order from Amazon UK and I got as far as "pay now" so I guess, they indeed would ship that hub to Belgium. In the past, I tried to order stuff from Amazon more often than not I got "does not ship to Belgium". I'm not going to buy it... I'm happy with Fibaro + RaZberry... And the "cloud thing" bothers me. But I get your point, maybe it was unfair of me, in my previous post, to use FUD. FUD = Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. Maybe someone else, in Europe, is kind enough to order one and take away the FUD.

I have it on my watch list but hope Fibaro come out with something better soon.

If not floors and wiped with. Just like Samsung did to Nokia and Nokia had a few tens of billion in the bank at the start of the fight.

If Fibaro want to win they need true advocates to beat the marketing might and budget. Not hearing a lot of love here. A few retisant and doubters hang around always looking for greener grass and only one true fan.

Come on Fibaro give us a reason to love you.

You must all love it when I put down my smoothing plane and rough things up here.

@amurray85 are you implying that SmartThings has a better, more modern app? Just asking, because I do not know the product very well.

Are you also saying Samsung is a better company, because it is big? In that case, bigger is not always better. Samsung once designed a very nice APS-C camera system. If I remember well, less than one year after they made their best camera, on level with the best, they left the camera business. I do not own such a camera, I hold no grudge against Samsung.

not at all, i'm purely saying that fibaro is pretty good for the size of the company it is.. they wont ever be able to keep up with the likes of samsung and if we want rapid development than fibaro isn't really the right product.

BUT... there are questions to be answered from Fibaro around what product improvements are made in what areas. The mobile apps certainly require work and should be high on the list if you ask me.

Thanks for elaborating. I see. For me, the app is OK, probably because I am an old man and I still prefer real buttons and switches :-)

You see, we all have different needs. In that sense, a bigger Fibaro could please more people because they can work faster... I get your point ;-)

I agree, almost by definition, because all electronic devices I own seem to be "buggy". My Mac is buggy, my PC is buggy, my phone is buggy. Even my car is buggy.

So, what controller software does a better job? It is an honest question, and I think that is also what @robmac is asking (see first post), if I may speak in his name for one moment. Like me, he started about 5 years with a HC2 and now > 100 devices. So the question is: what should we do now? I think I can say I know the HC system and Z-Wave very well. I have my "wishes", "less buggy" is on my list too, but that is not the question. Tell me, if you where me, what would you do? How can I improve my overall experience? Which controller should I buy?

    Hi @petergebruers,

if you call yourself an old man, then what shoul'd i do? Return to museum, or directly to the grave? :P;D;D;D

B.t.w. i'm disassembling my switches at least for the lighting, cause in my opinion a "real HA" is without switches :-)

Ah! Old age, Young Mind! An I'm told grey hair makes a man sexy :-)

Maybe my daughters tell me that just to please me...

I agree: "real HA" is without switches and all about automation and that is indeed what I am trying to achieve. I'm really glad you mentioned this, because when I say: "I prefer switches" I mean (a) to interact with the system (b) as a kind of backup. An example of (a) is I have a Fibaro Button aka Mushroom to disable automation in a room. Also "voice control" counts as "a switch" in my opinion, but I often forget to mention that because I have none. Also, a tablet device, in a fixed location, with its user interface always "on", counts as "a switch". What I was referring to, was an "an app on my phone". I have to find the phone, unlock it, open the app, wait, select some subcategory and finally interact with the app. It is OK but not as fast as a "switch".

Also, a good metric of the quality of the automation is the WAF (or PAF if you want to be gender neutral). So, what WAF can you achieve with a HC Lite or HC2? Or HomeSeer? Or Samsung? Or....? Maybe it doesn't matter all that much? I don't know. As @robmac said: I've been running this system for 5 years, I have some doubts, what can I do?

    Thank you, "old man" :-D

    @petergebruers,

basically, man can say, that every human intervention switching, voice commands etc, doesn't belong to "real HA" and thouse interventions are only worse case workarounds (gadgets), or maybe as you say the backup possibility.

I'm using fibaro button, keyfob, remotec scene controller, fibaro swipe etc, etc. and even Alexa, but only to learn about that stuff, explore it and to satisfy my own curiosity :-)

BTW I stopped painting my hair, when i discovered, that women find gray hair charming... :-D

regards the Fibaro app, wondering only, how many of you are using the icon slide function? e.g. to turn lights in room / all on/off, or e.g. to disarm the alarm?

I do sometimes, just to turn off lights

I use this option very rarely since my lights are automated and I have plenty HUE's that can't be controlled that way. For alarm I have scenes to arm/disarm.

    Hi @Sankotronic,

I seldom use mobile app... I refuse to use it, because i don't like to intervene into my HA. It's merely used for signalling...

    Hi @Bodyart,

Well, I use mobile app for checking status of our house since our HA is still work in progress (even I get notifications regularly) and to see cameras, but you are right, not used to control since Angelina knows what she has to do :-)

I had to use the swipe down on the lights yesterday, 5 of my fibaro motion sensors where stuck in "eye open mode"..

    otherwise I seldom use it.
